Use Powerful Words in Your Marketing Copy

It’s paramount to use powerful and persuasive words on the home page, and on every
other page of your blog… including your emails.

Words create emotions. In fact, it’s been proven that words have the potential to unleash strong emotions in all of us.  They cause us to fall in love, go to war, and purchase products.  They persuade us by creating emotions that lead us to take action.

The Oxford English Dictionary now contains 171,476 different English words.  However, you may be surprised to discover that there are very few words that are powerful enough to move your readers to make a purchase.

Whether you want someone to read your #blog posts, your emails, and eventually purchase your products, #digitalmarketing comes down to one important factor:  the effectiveness of your words.

Research suggests that there are “effective sales words” that appeal to buyers and
ultimately convince them to take action.  Yes, it’s absolutely true!

When it comes to writing blog copy, choosing the right words absolutely matters.  You can accomplish this by using words that will instantly achieve winning results for your blog.

Why should it be important to you?  Because when you use persuasive words:

  • They will pay more attention to your blog.
  • They will stay there longer and return again.
  • They will open & read more of your emails.
  • They will feel the emotion and be compelled to make a purchase.
  • Your #emailmarketing will build your list of readers faster and increase your sales
    results.

There’s an old marketing story… years ago the Hilton Hotel Corporation came up with an
idea.  If they could get customers to reuse their towels they would save a lot of money, which would equal increased profits.  So they placed a sign in every bathroom that said, “You can help save our environment if you reuse your towel”.

They were astonished that the signs didn’t make any difference in the laundry loads each day.

But, someone at Hilton made a brilliant observation, that maybe the sign wasn’t worded correctly.  They simply tried it from a different approach.  They changed the words to:  “…most of our customers are now reusing their towels to save the environment…”

It worked!  With this simple change in wording, Hilton increased their profits by significantly lowering their laundering costs.  It’s crazy, but people didn’t want to join the cause unless they thought that most other people already had joined.

You have to do the same… continually monitor the sales results of your blog and emails and look for the most persuasive words to use for your niche market.
